I begin blogging. I am 58 years old and I'm blogging. Giddy at the prospect of what I'm not sure.
But I've given my blog a name, or Margot, my dearest friend of 40 years has: Eventually Susan. And that feels like a beginning or at least a definition at a time when what and who defined me has blurred. Email is so yesterday.
So I begin today. With blogging.

- I am of that age, a journalist since I was in 4th grade and wrote that as my career goal, mother of two grown children and wife of one heroic, sweet man. I am a transplanted midwesterner who makes her home in the Southwest and her living writing for a major metropolitan daily. There are fewer of us than there use to be.
